Souq Al Dahab

Project Overview

Souq Al Dahab
Al Obour City, Egypt
Specialized Gold & Jewelry Mall
Completed

Description

The first and largest specialized gold and jewelry trading hub in Egypt and the Arab region — a world-class destination that brings together manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and craftsmen under one roof.

Redefining Gold Commerce in Egypt

Souq Al Dahab is a landmark project by the alliance of OCTA and Muroj Development (Hawash Group), designed to create a modern, organized gold trading ecosystem that rivals the world’s greatest gold markets. The project reimagines the legacy of Cairo’s historic Fatimid-era gold souks in a contemporary, AI-powered, and fully secured environment.

Located at the main entrance of District 7 in Al Obour City, adjacent to Golf City compound, the mall sits in the heart of Egypt’s gold manufacturing hub — surrounded by 13 major gold factories, including 6 of the largest gold brands in the Middle East, the Hallmarking and Weighing Authority, and Egypt Gold School for Applied Technology.

Project Scale

The mall is built on 7,500 square meters of land with total sellable area reaching 31,000 square meters. The main facade stretches 200 meters, designed so that every shop and brand is visible from the moment visitors enter. The architectural design by AOT (Architecture of Today) — the firm behind Egypt’s largest gold factories — combines elegance with intelligent space planning.

What’s Inside

Souq Al Dahab houses approximately 380 commercial units, including 220 dedicated gold and jewelry shops featuring showrooms for Egypt’s top gold manufacturers and brands, wholesale and retail trading units, specialized gold workshops and crafting stations, banking and money exchange services, a hotel facility for visiting traders and international delegations, restaurants and cafes, and two celebration halls designed specifically for the Egyptian tradition of “wearing the engagement gold” — turning a simple purchase into a memorable family experience.

Smart & Secure

The mall integrates the latest AI technology and world-class security systems, including full CCTV coverage, advanced fire suppression, complete underground parking, central air conditioning, and professional facility management — ensuring a safe and premium trading environment.

Strategic Importance

Al Obour City was chosen specifically because it is the industrial heart of Egypt’s gold manufacturing sector. The location is just 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport and Heliopolis, making it ideal for domestic and international trade, export logistics, and business delegations.

The project connects directly to Cairo and surrounding cities via the Ring Road, Middle Ring Road, Regional Road, Ismailia Road, Belbeis Road, and the Saad El-Din El-Shazly Axis linking to New Cairo and the airport.

Partnerships

A strategic alliance between OCTA (urban planning), Muroj Development (Hawash Group — real estate investment), and Al Obour Investment & Real Estate Development Company. Architectural design by AOT (Architecture of Today) — specialists in gold factory and showroom design.

Delivery Timeline

Unit delivery is scheduled for 2026, with flexible payment plans available. The project follows the same proven delivery model as Souq Al Qomash, where OCTA and Hawash Group demonstrated their ability to deliver ahead of schedule.

Vision

Souq Al Dahab aims to become a global destination for gold trading — supporting Egypt’s gold export ambitions while modernizing the domestic jewelry market with organized, secure, and accessible commercial infrastructure.
